Card of the Day-12 June 2017

Today’s Card of the Day is the 5 of Cups reversed. This is a reminder that not all “bad” 5-of-cups-thothsituations are negative. Instead they are necessary and full of potential. Instead we ought  to step away from the narrow perspective that is stuck in the details and look at the larger picture which may reveal the situation’s or circumstances’ grander role. Difficult times are brought into our lives for various reasons but they can be used as ways to better ourselves. It is through battling the lower situations that we learn our strength and value, thus allowing us to rise above in our true worth. This doesn’t mean they suck. They do but with this card, we are being challenged to find the silver lining within the disappointment. What can be learned? What is the purpose of this situation? Even the smallest glimmer can shine bright.

Brightest of Blessings,

The Autumn Witch

Card of the Day-6 June 2017

Princess of Cups with 5 and 6 of Cups

The truth is that we are always going to have moments that test our patience, our temperaments, our emotions. This a part of life but just as a lotus is shown, we must rise above the mud and the muck. It is through these very moments we are able to choose to be wiser, kinder, and better–thereby becoming the lotus arising from the mud. Its a deeper sense of awareness that external catalysts don’t have to ripple across our peace IMG_20170606_065604_372within. This is what the fish is saying for today. Fish can be adaptable, dig deep at the subconscious, It’s about wisdom. This seems the theme for today. Wisdom of knowing that while there are always going to be trying times, conflicts with others, or actions which plague and pluck at our emotions, we are capable of rising above with a sense of awareness, understanding, wisdom, and grace (the swan energy). We are coming into our own emotional power, refusing others to steal away our peace and happiness. From stealing away any bit of our power.

In truth, we wouldn’t be fully grateful for the good moments if we didn’t experience the sour ones as well. Sometimes the bad moments seem daunting and overwhelming–as if we will never be capable of overcoming them–but this is what fear does. It puffs up the situation to appear much more terrifying than what it truly is. Don’t give in to fear. Face it with understanding within your heart and even a sense of gratitude for the learning experience.

You may be tested with these very sorts of moments today–whether it be from an event that takes place or from people. Don’t sweat it. Just remember to breathe and if needed, call upon either fish or swan energy for today. Turtle is about persistence so don’t allow yourself to be stopped–keep pushing forward. You are capable of achieving all that you hope. Allow yourself to remain centered and calm with your emotions balanced, in check, and controlled. Don’t give away your power.

Ace of Wands Reversed

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back…20170602_000146-1

Actually, no. This card’s meaning for today would be more like the Hokey Pokey–Put your left foot in…put your left foot out…There’s hesitation and a lack of movement forward. It’s as if once a new breakthrough occurs, a new opportunity, desire, or goal, we immediately backtrack. There’s the chance for progress yet we are too afraid of the change or unknown that we refuse to move. This is only wasting valuable fire energy, My Friends. We may have doubts, fears, worries about the situation. What if I’m not good enough?! Whatever the reason, something is hindering our progress and most likely it’s us. We are squandering our potential!

Check yourself. Clear out the bullshit you’ve been feeding yourself and learn what it is that keeps your from continuing forward. Change is a constant and while scary, it’s only once we leave our comfort zone that we begin to grow and transform as a person. Reassess your goals, dreams, values, and motivations. What drives you forward? What keeps you going? Why did you want to do whatever it was in the first place? Recall that reason and really feel it in your heart. Allow your reason to consume you. Understand that you may be complaining of a lack of growth, change, movement, etc. however, it’s already there. Evaluate whether subconsciously you are the one hindering yourself.

I know this is blunter than I would normally explain but this card really pulls a major punch for me right now. It’s shouting, “YOU ARE IN YOUR OWN WAY! IN THIS MOMENT, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!” Sometimes we need that stern talking to and this is a similar case. Don’t let yourself be the reason you don’t move forward. Don’t take a step forward, only to withdraw back. This isn’t the Hokey Pokey, My Friends. You need to keep moving forward–at least right now.

Card of the Day-20 Dec 2016

Cards for today:

The Moon, Death, and the Fool

I didn’t draw a card as normal for today because I instantly had these three come to mind as soon as I woke. Tonight is Yule Eve, with tomorrow being Yule or the Winter Solstice–the rebirth of the God (the Sun). In order to be reborn ourselves and really work with these themes, we must be willing to face the longest, darkest night of the year. We must face our shadows so that we may release and let go all that which no longers serves us.
This is why I chose the moon card first off as the imagery perfectly represent this necessary will to traverse between the pillars, into the darkness, so that we may emerge into the light renewed and energetically cleared. The moon also allows us to peer through the illusions and into those dark places so that they may be illuminated. It is no use to merely sweep the shadows beneath the rug and ignore them because eventually you will have to face them.

As we do this necessary work, as we release and banish that which we no longer want, deserve, or need, we must also purify ourselves so that we may welcome the new. This is a great time of transformation which is why the Death cars came to mind. We are dying to the old so that we may be reborn to the new. As within, so without. We’re extensions of what is occurring in nature at this time.

Lastly, this is a time of new beginnings and of fresh starts. For some Pagans, Yule is the new year instead of Samhain so once more do we return to the fool as he begins a new cycle, though if we’ve done the proper work, we’ll be all the wiser. Life is full of endless cycles of endings and new beginnings but it’s important to remember its also a spiral as we’re never in the exact same place as before. This may be Yule, which occurred last year just as it always has and always will, but we’re not the same people we were last year. We have grown,  fallen, and learned more than the previous year which makes each time a new experience. 😊

I wish you all a very blessed Yule. May we delve deep within on this darkest Solstice Eve night so we may all emerge into the light with open hearts and minds. ❤
